The Insulin Pump Therapy Program (IPTP) is designed to support Alberta residents living with type 1 or type 3c diabetes. Albertans who meet the eligibility and clinical criteria will be able to receive coverage for the cost of an insulin pump and its supplies as well as other diabetes management supplies.
Steps to take if interested in an insulin pump (For Medicine Hat & Lethbridge):
- Complete the on-line “Insulin Pump Therapy Learning Module” available at: https://myhealth.alberta.ca/Learning/insulin-pump-therapy
- Once pre-pump information session is completed and you are interested in proceeding with insulin pump therapy phone to book an insulin pump consultation
- Within the learning module is an “Introduction to Pump Therapy Questionnaire”. Bring the completed questionnaire to your clinic appointment.
