Elder Abuse Case Management

Elder Abuse Case Management is provided by the Veiner Centre to people age 50 and older. Referrals are accepted from anyone interested in the well-being of older adults.

Elder Abuse is any action or inaction by a person in a trusting relationship that causes harm and distress to an older adult within the scope of physical, emotional, psychological, financial, sexual, medication abuse or neglect. Sometimes life’s events seem overwhelming. You may not know where to turn for the help you need. Finding the right resources can make all the difference.

Working closely with our community partners, we serve the Medicine Hat area to:

  • Offer assessment, support and case management to older adults, families and care partners at risk of or experiencing elder abuse.
  • Provide education, advocacy, and referral services
  • Assist in navigating complex systems for the best possible outcomes
  • Increase knowledge, skills and competence to help end elder abuse

We are committed to strengthening families in times of crisis, change and growth through counselling, support and education in a safe, caring and confidential environment.
