Salvation Army

The Salvation Army offers practical assistance for children and families, often tending to the basic necessities of life, provides shelter for homeless people and rehabilitation for people who have lost control of their lives to an addiction. They also provide social and community service programs, which focus on nurturing the capacities, skills and strengths of individuals rather than just meeting their needs

Crisis shelter services on a first come, first served basis. Open from 7:30pm – 7:30am to people 18 years and older. A snack is provided (if the individual misses the hot meal program on 4 St), as well as breakfast in the morning. Supplies guests with a warm bed, laundry services, & hot showers. Provides crisis support and referrals to other agencies as required.

Hot meal served from 5-6pm

Family Services from 11am-3pm (Monday, Tuesday Wednesday and Friday)

Community Warmth: Utility assistance for those who have received a disconnection notice or have been disconnected

Bridge & Loan: Through an application process this program offers an interest free loan for rent or damage deposit

Spiritual Support: Provides bibles, devotional and inspirational materials, spiritual support.

Family Assistance: Provides various forms of assistance through clothing, housewares, furniture, vouchers, identification, prescription assistance, and limited bus tickets.

Christmas Assistance: Assistance with food, gifts and resource information
