Community Paramedic Response Team

Community paramedics are specifically trained to provide healthcare in communities and patient homes. Physicians, continuing care site staff and care teams can request in-home care from community paramedica for their patients.

Community paramedics can provide the following in-home treatments and assessments:

  • Wound care, including putting in stitches
  • Blood Collection
  • Medication, including intravenous administration
  • Electrocardiograms (ECGs)
  • Starting and managing intravenous sites
  • Monitoring of oxygen levels, blood pressure, blood sugar, heart rate, ect.

In addition to in-home treatments and assessments, they:

  • Can answer your questions about your care
  • Have secure access to health records
  • Have the necessary equipment and medication for treatments
  • Adhere to hand hygiene and infection, prevention and control standards
  • In emergencies, provide appropriate care and arrange an ambulance.
